Research and Development

IPALC R&D started its activity in 2006 at Frigento-AV as a spin-off of IPALC Gruppo Lo Conte. It is set up to apply the knowledge and competence acquired in the field of cereal and pseudocereal science to the productive reality. IPALC R&D activity focus on novel food and functional food by using cereal and pseudocereal matrices.

More recently, thanks to an agreement with the Italian National Research Council (CNR), IPALC R&D has been exploiting pre-competitive studies in the field of new dieto-therapeutic flours for gluten intolerance (celiac disease).

The instrumentation present at IPALC R&D laboratories fully fulfil the requirements for biochemical and technological assessments of developed food prototypes.
